Kelly Sackett Wins Republican Nomination For Michigan House District 40: The Race Against Matt Longjohn Heats Up

Another election to watch is Michigan's 40th House District, where KGOP Chairwomen Kelly Sackett has emerged victorious in the Republican primary on August 6th. Her race against Democratic opponent Matt Longjohn enters the final stretch. They will face off in the General Election scheduled for November 5th with the winner earning a two-year term in the state legislature.

District 40 includes the city of Portage and parts of Texas Township and Oshtemo Township.

TTA election odds favor no candidate. Our prediction model forecasts a very close election. So messaging, advertising and press availability could tilt this race.

Critics point out that (D) Matt Longjohn has a history of embellishing his record.

Longjohn's campaign is built on lies and deception. He's been masquerading as a medical doctor despite not being licensed to practice medicine in Michigan.

The Facts: Democratic congressional candidate and former YMCA national health director Matt Longjohn has been using "M.D." and "Dr." in campaign materials for years despite not being licensed to practice medicine. Longjohn earned his medical degree from Tulane University in 1999, then participated in Northwestern University's Internal Medicine residency program. He was issued a temporary license to practice medicine in Illinois during that residency, which ended in 2001. Longjohn never held another license and was never licensed to practice medicine in Michigan.

Longjohn also amplified harmful COVID19 pandemic vaccine and mask mandates with no scientific backing.

Longjohn supports radical policy like gender mutilation of minors disguised as gender affirming care. Here's his post bragging about being endorsed by Equality Michigan Action Network, Michigan's leading LGBTQ+ advocate.

Contrast that with this: In the fall of 2021, Kalamazoo County Citizens United (KCCU) organized and funded lawsuits challenging COVID-19 mask mandates. KCCU assisted parents from various school districts, including Gull Lake, Portage, Mattawan, Plainwell, Comstock, and the Kalamazoo County Health Department. Republican congresisonal candidate, founding member of KCCU and KGOP Chairwoman Kelly Sackett, played a leading role in these legal efforts and remains active in preventing future mask mandates in schools.

Sackett represents grassroots patriots, who are rejecting the failed woke policies of the progressive elite. Longjohn, on the other hand, represents the worst excesses of the Whitmer swamp in Lansing, beholden to his donors and out of touch with the American people.

Sackett is the standard-beaer for the America First movement in Michigan, and her victory in November would be a significant blow to the establishment. Her campaign represents the best choice for constituents, children, community, and our country.
