BREAKING - Peace agreement between U.S.-IRAN has been reached, official signing ceremony Friday June 19th in Switzerland

A landmark, historic diplomatic breakthrough has reportedly been achieved between the United States and Iran, with President Trump and mediators announcing that a peace agreement has been reached and an official signing ceremony scheduled for June 19 in Switzerland.

The accord follows weeks of intensive negotiations involving the United States, Iran, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. If formally ratified, the agreement would bring an end to hostilities, establish a framework for future security and nuclear negotiations, and reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, through which a significant portion of the world's energy supplies pass.

President Donald Trump hailed the development in a statement, declaring the negotiations complete and announcing immediate measures to restore maritime traffic in the Persian Gulf: "The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!" Trump said. "I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"

The announcement came shortly after Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif disclosed that negotiators had successfully concluded the framework agreement: "Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED," Sharif said. "Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon."

Sharif confirmed that the official signing ceremony would take place on June 19 in Switzerland and praised all parties involved in the mediation effort: "We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict," he said. "We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in this mediation effort, the great leadership of State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I would also especially thank the visionary leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of Türkiye for their immense contributions in this regard."

According to Sharif, mediators will now facilitate a series of pre-implementation meetings intended to prepare technical arrangements ahead of the formal signing ceremony.

The reported agreement is expected to initiate broader discussions on sanctions relief, maritime security, regional stability, and the future of Iran's nuclear program. Analysts say the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz alone could have far-reaching implications for global energy markets, reducing uncertainty and restoring confidence in one of the world's most critical shipping corridors.

Should the accord be formally signed next week, it would mark one of the most consequential diplomatic achievements in U.S.-Iran relations in decades, potentially reshaping the security landscape of the Middle East and opening a new chapter in a relationship long defined by confrontation and mistrust.
