Iran protesters demand return to the old 1906 Constitution — the pre-1979 charter that limited Shah power & created a real parliament under the Pahlavi dynasty.

The 1906 Constitution (with later supplements in 1925 and 1949) remained in effect — at least nominally — during the Pahlavi dynasty (1925–1979) until it was replaced after the 1979 Islamic Revolution by the current Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran (adopted December 1979, amended 1989).

Iran’s exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi continues to encourage protesters.
